10th International Meeting on Cholinesterases

20. - 25. September 2009 Šibenik, Croatia

The Meeting venue is the 4-star Hotel Ivan, Solaris Hotels Resort in Šibenik. The Resort consists of several hotels, all within walking distance from Hotel Ivan. The Solaris Hotels Resort is on the sea-side 4 km south from the Šibenik city centre.
Šibenik is an ancient town rich in cultural and historical monuments. The renaissance Cathedral of St. James is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
A shuttle-bus runs between the Solaris Hotel Resort and Šibenik centre every hour (price is about 1.5 EUR per person in one direction). Transportation is also possible by taxi or hotel minivan.

Šibenik is about 50 km northwest from the Split International Airport, 340 km south from the Zagreb International Airport and 50 km from the Zadar Airport, and it can be reached also by train or bus. Ferryboats from Ancona (Italy) sail to Zadar and Split.
Transfers between the Split International Airport and the Solaris Hotels Resort will be organised.
TAXI transfer from Split Airport to Solaris Hotels Resort is about 100 EUR.

Letter of invitation
Should you need an official “Letter of invitation” to obtain your visa to enter Croatia, or for any other reason, please let us know at your earliest convenience. When asking for the “Letter of invitation” please indicate the purpose.

Certificate of attendance
“Certificates of attendance” will be provided for all participants. Please ask for the certificate on-site at the registration desk.

Confirmation of payment
A confirmation of payment will be sent to each participant upon paying the registration fee. Please bring this confirmation to the registration desk as proof of your registration. 

Congress badges
All registered persons will receive a name-badge upon registration. Please wear the badge during both scientific and social events.

Insurance and Liability
Participants are recommended to seek insurance coverage for health and accident, lost luggage and trip cancellation. The Organisers are not liable for any loses, injuries or other damages.



Passport and Visa Requirements

Participants require a valid passport to enter Croatia. Please contact the Croatia Diplomatic Mission or Consular Office in your country to obtain information regarding the visa policy for your country. You can find a list of Croatian Embassies on the following website:

Domestic currency
The domestic currency is Kuna - HRK (1 Kuna = 100 Lipas; http://www.hnb.hr/novcan/enovcan.htm?tsfsg=1870bdd2930a879690750d943731f109).
Kuna coins are 1, 2, 5 and 25 Kuna, and Kuna banknotes are 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 Kuna. Lipa coins are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 Lipa.

Foreign currency
Foreign currencies can be exchanged in banks, exchange offices, post offices, travel agencies and hotels. Cheques can be cashed in banks.

Power supply
The power outlets in Croatia are the Continental two-pin type
(220-230 V, 50 Hz).

Drinking water
Tap water is potable in all parts of Croatia.

Time zone
GMT plus one hour in winter and GMT plus two hours in summer.

Working hours
Most shops are open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on weekdays and until 2 or 3 p.m. on Saturdays. Public services and business offices work from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., Mondays to Fridays.

The mean day-time temperature in September is about 21 °C. Mornings and evenings might be cooler, and a light coat or cardigan is required. The mean temperature of the sea in September is about 18-20 °C.
